Getting Creative with Sacred Heart Catholic High School

Recently we were approached by Sacred Heart Catholic High School who asked us to help them launch the school’s brand new, state-of-the-art Dance Studio.

The studio is a purpose built creative environment, designed to support young people in the arts of dance and performance, and working towards the launch of the facility we were tasked with coming up with a brand that would reflect the energy and creative expression of the dancers who would eventually use the studio.

Our creative director, Gemma Waller reveled at the opportunity to create a brand based on the concept of freedom, colour and energy but was conscious that the school’s brand should also be incorporated into the design to demonstrate their ownership of the facilty.

Gemma said, “The purpose of the Dance Studio’s branding is to attract any young person who simply loves to dance or others who dream of becoming a dancer one day. Creative expression and a feeling of freedom and joy is inherent in the art of dance, so I wanted to come up with an exciting image, bursting with colour and energy that would reflect this creativity and inspire young people to become involved and join the new dance studio.”

“The colour palette has been designed around the colours found inside the dance studio itself as well as those in the school’s existing branding. I also chose to use the heart shaped element of the Sacred Heart logo to both demonstrate the school’s ownership of the studio whilst also giving it an individual identity as a stand alone facility.”

We wanted to make sure the launch created a buzz about the studio amongst existing students, future students from local primary schools, dance enthusiasts and friends of Sacred Heart.

To do this we sent out branded invitations to an exclusive launch event where attendees would be treated to a tour of the facilities as well as performances from the school’s talented dance students.

We also created branded t-shirts and badges ensuring supporters of the Studio would become walking adverts for the facility and the classes it will provide. We also created a informative six page leaflet about the Studio and a smaller leaflet detailing information on classes.

As the Studio becomes more established and invites more keen dancers to enjoy the brand-new building, we’ll be rolling out an online marketing strategy for a web presence including social media, newsletters and schedules.

We wish Sacred Heart and The Dance Studio all the very best for the future and we can’t wait to see the stars it’ll produce.
